Peach plants
Champion peach plants Champion Early is an open-pollinated seedling of Champion, developed at the State Nikita Botanical Garden. It entered state trials in 1982 and was added to the register for the North Caucasus region, Republic of Dagestan, in 1991. The tree has moderate vigour and a broad-oval, raised, dense crown. Flowers are rose-like. Nearly round, medium-sized fruits weigh about 100 g. The thin, tender, finely velvety skin is creamy with a bright crimson blush covering almost the entire surface. The flesh is white, juicy, delicately fibrous and aromatic, with a very good dessert flavour. The small stone does not separate from the flesh. Intended for fresh eating. Ripens in the medium-early season and yields heavily. Flower-bud winter hardiness is above average, and disease damage is limited.
